A few things about me

DonnaGeorgeBlogs

Ferry Ride

I grew up motivated, happy and dedicated to experience life to the fullest in whatever direction it unfolded.

I attended the University Of North Carolina At Wilmington – Major, Communications

I live by the sea, love seagulls and get lost in books. My husband and I have 2 sons – Chase & Dakota.

My friends refer to me as “Mermaid” – (no idea why)  it’s totally normal to me to stay in the ocean most of your life. Its the creatures lurking the beach that makes me a little jittery.

I’m a lefty, hopeful, whimsical in nature, and positive by intent.

Follower of Jesus Christ and yes, don’t hate me, a conservative – who still believes integrity and morals still matter in this world.

I use a Nikon 5200 camera for photos. Love photography!

Reading blogs is my fetish, clothing my addiction and magazines are everywhere in my house, and in my jeep. My best days are hot, sunny with a great playlist and front row seats on the beach.

My bucket list is still full, I would love to live in Ireland for 1 year to dig around my heritage,  skydive from a plane (rained out my last 2 attempts) and complete my true purpose in life. Discovering a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow would be a wonderful blessing too, while in Ireland. I was thinking about a cottage in a small seaside town not far from the city.

All-time favorite movie is still “City Of Angels” and TV series is “The OC”.

I enjoy putting together 1000 Piece Puzzles. See my post on how to turn a 1000 piece puzzle into a masterpiece. I’ve shared many of my puzzles on the blog.

I can’t live without the sounds of the Eagles, Bee Gee’s and Stevie Nicks. They have brought me many hours of joy.

Oh, and did I say the beach….

I spent the last 30 years working as a VP, traveling from Philadelphia to Alabama, for a retail brand.  My career enabled me to learn much about leadership and human behaviors. From time to time, I may share some travel stories. I could write an entire book on chicken soup for frequent fliers. Of course – those blogs would be laced with EXTRAORDINARY happenings and hilarious situations.

Now, I write, take photographs, puzzle, jog and sleep until 10 am, at least, have breakfast with friends when I want and lunch when I’m hungry. I am enjoying this creative freedom, I hope that you make time for yourself.

Some more photos, I will start with my view from the deck of our Boone house nestled in the blue ridge mountains, They are majestic, big and outrageously beautiful. Boone is a small town with three ski resorts and the highest peak elevation in the east.

  2. I enjoyed reading your blog and hope to read more in the future. It sounds like you have a busy active life. Interesting, but your picture of the Blue Ridge mountains taken from your back deck reminds me so much of the view from my deck. The snow also looks familiar.

    Congrats on the Lieberman Award! I have a question for you – how do I send my post for accepting your nomination but keep it private to the 101 blogging community and not public on my blog? Do you know?

  10. Donna;
    Thank God at last you replied the comment!!!!!!!!!
    In the response of your comment “Thank you so much:) I accept your nomination happily”.
    “As you sow so shall you reap”‘
    Is a proverb which means that actions or deeds of a person repay him/her in kind. Origin of the proverb is traced to the Bible, Galations VI (King James Version): Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he/she also reap.
    You are doing good to others, so, simply others are doing good to you………
    I wish, due to grace of God life must be going well…………….

  13. Donna;
    Frankly speaking my knowledge about all these technical aspect is very poor, so, regarding inserting Icon; I don’t have any idea; because, I never have any idea; but inserting the link is very easy process; first of all you have to select the name of the blogger; than on upper bar you will “Insert/Edit” link button, press on it, one more box will open; then paste the URL of blog; while pasting the URL; keep it in mind, there is by default ” http//” so, when you paste the URL there will be two htpp// so, remove one of them; and do not forget the mark the button, open the link in new tab.
    I wish this must be useful for you or else I suggest you to go to the forum

  21. Ha ha, wonderful introduction. You wonder why your friends call you a ‘mermaid’? Well ’cause if someone tossed you in the water, hoping you would drown, you immediately grow fins and start enjoying the experience, that’s why (metaphorical reference, intended!) 🙂
