My appreciation to Helen Elizabeth, Good Woman for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award. I stumbled upon her blog from The Commons and quickly realized her writing gift would keep me coming back for more of the story. Her blog is honest, fresh and sprinkled with nuggets of wisdom. I can tell you the Good Woman enjoys inspiring life quotes, has 2 dogs, and likes basketball and football, especially the Green Bay Packers. Oh, and did I mention her first career was teaching for 11 years, that alone merits an award?
I’m happy to accept this nomination and excited to be a part of the Blogging University and the blogging community.
The rules are:
https://versatilebloggeraward.wordpress.com/
- Thank the person who nominated you
- Share 7 facts about yourself
- Nominate 15 blogs
- Link your nominees’ blogs, and let them know
My 7 facts:
- I have 7 dogs who live in our home like family. Let me introduce you to Mercy & Grace, my 2 Yorkies, Cole, a black Pomeranian, and Rizzo, Lizzie, Layla and Noel, our family of miniature Aussies. They hate Fridays – bath day:{. There is a story behind each dog, believe me, I just didn’t get up one day and say, “let’s get 7 dogs”.
- I am secretly a Mermaid. I feel most comfortable close to the sea.
- I traveled as a retail executive for 30 years from Philly to Alabama every week for a Junior Retail Fashion store called Body Central based out of Jacksonville, FL. It was a life career that taught me life lessons Beyond Extraordinary Days. It’s a long story, but a good one I hope to write about one day.
- My favorite writers are Stephen King, Dean Koontz and Nicholas Sparks. I live in Wilmywood, better known as Hollywood in the East, where many TV series are made like One Tree Hill, Under the Dome, Revolution, Dawson’s Creek, Sleepy Hollow and etc. Movies like The Conjuring, Hunger Games, Fire Starter, Cape Fear, Iron Man etc.
- I launched a fashion blog 12/13 called True to you. It was a self-hosted fashion blog a web developer built for me, lots of work. It was cyber attacked by terrorists in Turkey and the server took it down. The developer cleaned it up, put it back up, 3 days later it was gone again, now I blog at WordPress and let them host.
- I love bridges, especially the ones in Alabama.
- I taught ballet for 5 years.
The 15 blogs I nominate are:
5. FloorDeBoor
7. Brand New Day! Brand New Blog!
9. Living Intentionally Simple
11. Crazy in Catmint
13. Finding Myself Through Writing
I hope you will accept my nomination and continue to enrich the blogging community with your unique view of the world. I have enjoyed reading all your blogs, especially the About Pages. I look forward to reading more in the future.

Donna,
Congrats on your nomination…what a wonderful blog you have created. And I like the new header (although I also liked the previous one without the photo). And thank you so much for nominating me. I’m not a mer-man, but I also love large bodies of water. If I’m not near the ocean, I prefer the mountains. I’m probably one of the few people who have never read Stephen King!!!

Hey there! Not sure about the photo in the header either. I was rearranging stuff a bit and couldn’t find a mermaid so I settled for a dandelion 🙂 I have always preferred the minimalistic simple white I was using but several people have been asking why I didn’t add some bells and whistles, glad you made a comment and noticed. Ironic you mention Mer-man – I have been putting together a shorty in my head about a this creature. A sort of Blue Lagoon throwback, seriously. I’ll keep you posted😳

I can’t believe that it took me this long to come back to comment on your acceptance blog. Thank you for accepting the award and for the very nice things you said about my blog. How do you manage to live with 7 dogs? I have two who choose to share their home with me, and oh my goodness, although they are old–each is almost 14–they keep us busy. I have to tell you that I recall ordering Body Central clothes on line for my daughter when she was in junior sizes so I am familiar with that company. And this same daughter was in ballet, and loved it, until chronic knee pain made her stop. Always interesting to read these acceptance posts. Now I will check out a few more of your nominated blogs.

Hello
No worries, we are always busy writing. I started out with one Yorkie that wouldn’t eat so we got another yorkie and that solved the eating problem with the first one. They became and still are good buddies – Grace & Mercy. Then we went to a pet store to by a teacup Yorkie and saw a teacup maltese, bought it and that made 3. As the story goes, my son found a blue Merle Miniature Aussie online he wanted for his birthday so we bought it. My husband fell in love with the breed and wanted one for hisself. That made 4. The my son moved back in with us and that made 5. They need the 2 Aussies with intent to sell and it turns out she had 3, we kept 2. So that makes 7. The aussies are dad, mom and the 2 girls. The maltese was killed by a strange dog 2 days before Thanksgiving (9 years old) We were devastated as he was a beautiful 2 lb lap dog so I got a black pom. It is a lot of work but they are all well behaved except for the pom lol. I need to write a post about them someday. 🙂

It sounds to be that you could write a book about them rather than just a post. I love dogs.
